Style & Quality

Our priority is to provide natural high quality products with unique designs influenced by a variety of cultures.  To keep this pledge alive, our buyers travel the world to personally pick the best patterns and fabrics.  This also allows them to ensure that every merchant and artisan is paid what they deserve for their craftsmanship.  With the same commitment to detail, the designers are constantly on an international quest to find the latest unique trends and looks within every culture.

Sarongs have been a prominent garment in hundreds of cultures for thousands of years.  Whether they have been called a sarong, pareo, lava lava, sari, kikoi, kanga, or gone by another name, the presence and importance have always been the same.  A beautiful piece of fabric that can be used hundreds of ways.  And a reminder that at the heart of every culture, we are one.

Natural Fabrics

Silk

All of our silk sarongs are 100% silk and handpicked by our buyers in Indonesia.  The designs have been exclusively printed on silk by Casual Movements.  They are often known as the highest quality fabric for sarongs because of their amazing soft and smooth feel against the skin.  The silk is also very lightweight allowing the fabric to breath and keep its wearer cool and sexy.  Silk sarongs also have the unique versatility of being worn for casual days into elegant nights.  Remember it's okay to get them wet!

Hand Painted Rayon

These sarongs were all hand painted by expert artisans in Indonesia.  They often have the most vibrant colors and double as great wall hangings.  Each portrait is done on a high quality rayon, known as premium rayon.  It is often described as being "thicker" or having a "heavy weight quality" compared to standard rayon.  This is an attractive ideal for consumers looking for higher quality sarong fabric that is less transparent in the light and often lasts longer! And for those who don't know, rayon is a natural fiber made from tree bark.

Premium Rayon

Premium rayon is often described as being "thicker" or having a "heavy weight quality" compared to standard rayon. It has a higher, denser thread count.  This is often an attractive ideal for consumers looking for higher quality sarong fabric that is less transparent in the light and often lasts longer! And for those who don't know, rayon is a natural fiber made from tree bark.

Standard Rayon

The most common type of sarong is made of standard rayon.  It is a thin, soft, breathable fabric made from tree bark.  They are the most popular type of sarong, frequently used as beach wraps, dresses, baby carriers, scarves, curtains, tablecloths or any idea you can think of!

Rayon Knit

Rayon knit has recently been introduced to our sarong family for a limited time!  It both thinner than premium rayon, yet thicker than standard rayon.  The benefit of this fabric, is that it can stretch and drapes beautifully!  Having stretchy fabric allows more freedom to create countless styles!  This sarong will form around you like a glove, similar to that favorite pair of jeans you own without the worry of always fitting into them!

Our Causes

Support Breast Cancer

Like many families, Casual Movements has personal ties with the tragedy and triumphs of breast cancer.  With the help of our friend, a breast cancer survivor, and her family, we created the breast cancer sarong to support those fighting breast cancer.  Each sarong is equipped with a special note from a survivor that both encourages and empowers readers to enjoy life's adventures!

University of Hawaii

Being one of the main garments of Hawaii, it is only right that their state University students can sport their team colors with one!  Casual Movements partnered with UH to create a series of sarongs for UH supporters.  For a student on a budget they provide perfect versatility, as a outfit, dorm room curtain, table cloth, throw blanket, beach towel, and more!  They can even be strung up as a flag during games!  If you think your University has great potential for a popular sarong, feel free to contact us!

Environmentally Friendly

Casual Movements is a proud supporter of the environment.  Being located in Hawaii has given us a strong appreciation for the nature of paradise. We do our best to minimize our carbon footprint whether it be recycling boxes or using less plastic in our shipping materials.

Educating Girls

Casual Movements is a proud sponsor for women all over the world.  We are currently supporting girls in Ecuador, Nepal, Bolivia, Ethiopia, Uganda, Indonesia and more!  We truly believe that the education of one girl equates the education of an entire village.

Fair Trade* Principles

The Casual Movements family sends buyers and designers all over the world to personally ensure that their artisans are paid fairly for their crafts.  It is very important to us that our designs not only reflect their cultures but support them as well.
