Revelations of Love

Ariel ThomasComment

When it comes to February, we think of love. The evidence of Valentine’s Day is everywhere we walk and breathe. And if we’re single, the powerful ladies of late have decided to celebrate that too in the spirit of GAL-entine’s day. Love is present at all times in our lives yet we only force ourselves to analyze it when a holiday comes around. Suddenly we have to acknowledge the romantic excitement or lack there of in our lives. February can be positively pink or negatively red depending on the shade. And as you know, at Casual Movements we appreciate and celebrate all colors of wheel because they all have something to offer. So let’s take it a step farther and contemplate the most important love of all, self-love. As February comes to a close, we hope that you all decide to make some positive movements. Do something that makes you happy. Go somewhere you’ve always wanted to go. Whether it’s finding your inner buddha, finally unlocking meditation or seeing the beautiful sunset in your rose glass. Embrace it all and this world will be better for it.

A CASUAL MOVEment

Ariel ThomasComment

Once upon a time, a girl left the beach for the big city. She did what we all do when we move… let go of as much as possible. It’s a wonderful feeling, releasing the old, making room for the new.

But she kept every sarong. In an effort to help the planet and save money, she used them to wrap most of her belongings instead of buying packing materials. Then she took one on the plane to be her blanket and to wear as a winter scarf when she arrived.

After she moved in, the fun began. She wanted to create a space that reminded her of home as well as indulged her creative side. So when she realized she needed a shower curtain, she took out a hand painted sarong and made one. And when she wanted a new bed set, she made throw pillows out of her cotton sarongs and a full size blanket out of her tie dyed rayon ones. If she needed curtains, she would’ve made those too. It may have been winter outside but she had created a unique paradise rich with color around her. And all she needed to buy was a backing for a shower curtain, pillow stuffing and some thread. The best part was, she still had some sarongs to spare! Her movement had been a casual one and she was grateful for it.

Beat The Heat!

Summer 2015 is proving to be one of the hottest ever! Getting out of your cool house can be a challenge on certain days. However, if you're like us and beach days are still mandatory -- our pareo has proven to be the perfect accessory! Use it as a picnic blanket, light and fast-drying towel, and coverup for before and after swimming; the possibilities are endless.

We've decided to share one our favorite ways to beat the heat, by taking it back to your younger childhood years and building a beach fort! 3-5 sticks + one of our colorful sarongs and you're all set ;)

Loving this simple Hawai'i life.. We hope you enjoy your summer, wherever you may be in the world! Aloha

Don't let go of summer just yet! You can enjoy the sun year round in our beautiful sarongs. Because of our unique and exclusive designs, we guarantee you that won't see another girl on the beach with the same fabric (unless it's from us, of course😉).

We sent a few of our pareos out to California beauty Eryn Krouse and she made magic! Loving these photos. Both pareos can be ordered on our website, under the Standard Rayon Sarongs category. Order yours today! They are definitely a beach essential for those who crave that daily dose of sunshine, 365 days of the year.
